Dr Carol just read this article by humorous author Jill Kargman in the NYTimes, Fashion and  Style section today, 4/3/14. Here is a paragraph from her article, The Valor of Pallor: “I believe in the valor of pallor. I want to be even whiter. I’m like Michael Jackson, except I started out white. I’ve come to the conclusion that the only sunblock that works is a building. I used to wear sunblock every day, but after having melanoma, my doctor said you shouldn’t even be in the sun at all. Now on the beach I’m shrouded like a ninja. When I ski, I wear a ski mask. In the city, I walk on the shady side of the street. I should be a P.I. because I skulk in the shadows.”  This is what a melanoma, a terrible skin cancer linked to sun exposure, can do to your lifestyle!! Beware!
